David Pompa

David Pompa is an Austrian-Mexican designer based in the heart of Mexico City in the Roma Norte neighborhood. He studied a Masters in Product Design at Kingston University in London and founded Studio Davidpompa in 2008. His fascination with Mexican materials began in 2009 in Oaxaca, it was David's first contact with Barro Negro. The same year, the first showroom in Roma Norte, in the heart of Mexico City, was opened.

He created his brand in 2013, focusing on his passion for Mexican culture and codes.

Studio Davidpompa gives birth to singular objects with the oath to use materials taken from Mexican culture. Their work is an in-depth research of aspects of Mexican culture to create refined and timeless pieces.

Through collective work, people with a creative spirit, developing a singular and unique language, the studio is a true odyssey, always discovering new natural forms, from light to shimmering colors and with the promise of designing objects of the highest quality. Surrounded by a team of tireless and loyal designers, engineers and creators, curious and passionate about teamwork, full of talent and know-how where the exchange of life experiences governs the whole, the visual language is at work.

The common thread of Studio David Pompa is to reveal this clairvoyance of Mexican history in the mutation of materials, revealing the intriguing and immortal character of the objects manufactured.

Materials determine their work, they are the fuel of their inspirations. Seeking to highlight the material in its imperfections, its brilliance, its grace and its delicacy, the transformation is carried out in an enchanting harmony.

An experience that intrigues by the mystery that occurs when traditional materials are organized with innovative techniques and contemporary ideas. Each material gives rise to new knowledge and enriches the processes and methods of innovation.

The materials used range from black clay to Talavera ceramics, hand-blown recycled glass such as "Origo white suspension" for sale in our catalog, brass, copper, onyx and volcanic stones and Cantera coffee stone and powder-coated aluminum such as the product "Ambra double pendant" for sale in our catalog.
