Description
Dreamy Forest is born from a silent stroll beneath the foliage, where one marvels at the subtle dance between branches and foliage, between growth and intertwining. Porcelain leaves, finely sculpted on both sides, display their veins inspired by life, carried by curved brass branches as if blown by the wind. Between them, a few etched glass flowers gracefully emerge, discreet like secrets of a clearing. Even when unlit, the leaves capture the daylight, and when the small LEDs illuminate, they recall the golden light filtering through the trees of an enchanted forest. The adjustable intensity of the light sometimes invites brightness, sometimes softness, creating a world suspended between dream and reality.
Vezzini & Chen's work is an intimate dialogue where molded clay and blown glass intertwine, giving rise to creations bordering the functional and the sculptural.
Their meeting at the Royal College of Art sealed an alliance of origins and passions, uniting Vezzini's ceramic hand with Chen's crystalline fluidity to create works of vibrant and interactive forms.
Driven by the heritage of their Italian and Taiwanese cultures, they celebrate the memory of nature: collected seeds, organic structures, aquatic reflections, and memories of light.
Each piece is conceived as a poem of matter, where repetition, geometry, and texture recount the slow breathing of the natural world.
Thus, light, filtered through ceramic and glass, reveals moving shards, like an underwater echo vibrant with grace and serenity.

The new series of light sculptures named Ambra combines volumes of ancient stones and aluminium. Centerpiece is the Mexican “Toba volcánica” stone that consists of minerals, glass and volcanic debris ejected one million years ago during severe eruptions. Fragments in the geometrical surfaces are testament to these explosions and movement.

The contrast between porous textures and smooth dark red underlines the studios contemporary approach on traditional materials and craft. The connecting components between the sculptural stone elements and the aluminium parts originate from an intensive research of linking unique handmade shapes with industrial parts.
