A quiet monument to light and stone, the M-014 Table Lamp is a sculptural piece born from the fusion of material solidity and ambient softness. Crafted from solid marble, it reflects Monolith’s architectural minimalism and reverence for elemental materials.
Standing like a luminous totem, the M-014 features a monolithic marble base—either polished or raw—exuding both stability and purity. The warm light gently radiates from within or around the stone, creating a contemplative atmosphere. Each lamp is carved from a unique block of marble, revealing natural veining that makes every piece one of a kind.
Monolith is a Brooklyn-based design studio founded in 2022 by Marc Personick, a former digital interface designer turned furniture maker, driven by a passion for sculptural forms and brutalist aesthetics. The studio creates collectible furniture and objects that blur the line between functional design and contemporary art, celebrating the raw beauty of natural materials such as walnut, white oak, travertine, and volcanic stone.

The new series of light sculptures named Ambra combines volumes of ancient stones and aluminium. Centerpiece is the Mexican “Toba volcánica” stone that consists of minerals, glass and volcanic debris ejected one million years ago during severe eruptions. Fragments in the geometrical surfaces are testament to these explosions and movement.
The contrast between porous textures and smooth dark red underlines the studios contemporary approach on traditional materials and craft. The connecting components between the sculptural stone elements and the aluminium parts originate from an intensive research of linking unique handmade shapes with industrial parts.
