Description

Named after the traditional Ukrainian “pampukh”—a plump, pillowy brioche—the PAMPUKH Bed is more than a piece of furniture: it is an invitation to tenderness, deep rest, and a connection to ancestral rituals.

Inspired by the sacred act of breadmaking, where wheat, flour, and kneading symbolized warmth and nourishment, this bed pays tribute to the human touch and the comforting simplicity passed down through generations.
Its form is generous, rounded, almost edible, like a loaf just out of the oven. With its thick, padded volumes, it offers a cocoon of safety—a visual and physical softness that encourages you to let go. The design embraces the philosophy of living design, with an animistic, soulful aesthetic rooted in material and memory.

Victoria Yakusha is an architect, designer, and artist born in 1982 in Dnipro, Ukraine. She is the originator of the concept of "living design," a creative philosophy deeply rooted in the earth, nature, and Ukrainian cultural traditions.

In 2007, she graduated from the Prydniprovska State Academy of Architecture and furthered her studies in France at the National Institute of Applied Sciences (INSA). That same year, she founded her own architecture studio.

The new series of light sculptures named Ambra combines volumes of ancient stones and aluminium. Centerpiece is the Mexican “Toba volcánica” stone that consists of minerals, glass and volcanic debris ejected one million years ago during severe eruptions. Fragments in the geometrical surfaces are testament to these explosions and movement.

The contrast between porous textures and smooth dark red underlines the studios contemporary approach on traditional materials and craft. The connecting components between the sculptural stone elements and the aluminium parts originate from an intensive research of linking unique handmade shapes with industrial parts.
