Description
Dimple explores as a metaphore the emotional and physical aspect of dependency and support. While the glass is still hot and in the stage of hand blowing, an impression is made.
This table lamp explores the idea of dependency and support in both an emotional and physical sense represented in this piece by the inherent material qualities of glass, metal and marble. Whilst the glass is still hot and in the hand blowing stage, an impression is made in the glass oviform allowing the carved marble sphere to nestle in the resulting dimple.
The assemblage rests on a brass cube with a hand antiqued finish. Each Dimple assembly is a unique sculpture, handmade to order. Please note that each sculpture may vary slightly in form from what is pictured above.
Please contact us for photos of the current series. Dimmer and a plug provided, it may also be hardwired.

The new series of light sculptures named Ambra combines volumes of ancient stones and aluminium. Centerpiece is the Mexican “Toba volcánica” stone that consists of minerals, glass and volcanic debris ejected one million years ago during severe eruptions. Fragments in the geometrical surfaces are testament to these explosions and movement.

The contrast between porous textures and smooth dark red underlines the studios contemporary approach on traditional materials and craft. The connecting components between the sculptural stone elements and the aluminium parts originate from an intensive research of linking unique handmade shapes with industrial parts.
