Description
Handcrafted in Mexico and designed by David Pompa, Meta Ochre brings color and contrast to the Meta collection.
Travertino is a natural stone with a recognizable ochre tone, quarried in Puebla (Mexico) and containing mineral inclusions in white, light and dark gray. Extremely rich in textures, its patterns are elegant and refined.
The spectacular visual contrast between the different materials creates an original composition with a mexican flavor. An exquisite and sophisticated match adding life to neutral spaces, complementing an earth palette.
David Pompa is an austrian-mexican designer based in Mexico. He created his brand in 2013, focusing on his passion for mexican culture and codes. His work is a profound research of new aspects of the mexican culture to create elegant and timeless pieces.
The Meta Collection is a Serie of light suspensions made of volcanic rocks and aluminium. Its cylindric form offers a soft and sharp aesthetic. The dark shades emphasizes the elegance of the overall piece.

The new series of light sculptures named Ambra combines volumes of ancient stones and aluminium. Centerpiece is the Mexican “Toba volcánica” stone that consists of minerals, glass and volcanic debris ejected one million years ago during severe eruptions. Fragments in the geometrical surfaces are testament to these explosions and movement.

The contrast between porous textures and smooth dark red underlines the studios contemporary approach on traditional materials and craft. The connecting components between the sculptural stone elements and the aluminium parts originate from an intensive research of linking unique handmade shapes with industrial parts.
