Description
The Miami Blue Table Lamp is a bold, sculptural piece crafted by Studio Brajak Vitberg, inspired by the vibrant energy of the city of Miami. It captures the spirit of sunlit coastlines and shimmering waves through its luminous, ever-changing surface.
Made from plexiglass and wrapped in hand-applied dichroic foil, the lamp reflects a spectrum of iridescent colors that shift with the light and angle of view. Each piece is one of a kind, marked by delicate air bubbles—subtle traces of its artisanal creation.
Brajak Vitberg is a multidisciplinary art and design studio founded in 2019 in Ljubljana, Slovenia, by architects Petra Brajak and Robert V. Bijelić. Longtime friends and creative partners, the duo shares a unified vision: to transcend the boundaries between architecture, art, and design, crafting objects that speak as much to the heart as they do to the eye.
Their approach is experimental and deeply sensory. They aim to materialize their ideas immediately—without separation between thought and creation. This pursuit of “imperfect perfection” results in pieces that celebrate raw materials, organic forms, and the quiet poetry of craftsmanship, often inspired by nature and emotional states.
Brajak Vitberg explores materials such as plexiglass, dichroic glass, brass, steel, and marble—each chosen for its expressive potential. Their iconic “Miami” lamp, for instance, features hand-applied dichroic foil that captures shifting rainbow hues, transforming any space into a dynamic, dreamlike stage.

The new series of light sculptures named Ambra combines volumes of ancient stones and aluminium. Centerpiece is the Mexican “Toba volcánica” stone that consists of minerals, glass and volcanic debris ejected one million years ago during severe eruptions. Fragments in the geometrical surfaces are testament to these explosions and movement.

The contrast between porous textures and smooth dark red underlines the studios contemporary approach on traditional materials and craft. The connecting components between the sculptural stone elements and the aluminium parts originate from an intensive research of linking unique handmade shapes with industrial parts.
