The Oxidized Marble Table is a sculptural piece that merges the timeless elegance of marble with the raw, organic beauty of oxidation. Designed as an homage to the natural transformation of materials, this table reveals the poetry in imperfection, erosion, and the patina of time.
The tabletop, carved from carefully selected marble, features expressive veining accentuated by an oxidation process that brings out deep, earthy tones—ranging from rust and bronze to graphite. This unique finish evokes mineral landscapes or lunar surfaces, as if shaped by the passage of elements over centuries.
About of Alexander Díaz Andersson
Originally from Sweden, the designer has decided to drop his suitcase in Mexico and is now the Founder and Design director of ATRA Studio. Alexander Díaz Andersson, through his experiments and collaborations, is now part of the global scene of mexican design.
The designer's core focus is working with sustainable materials, through robotic and manual processes, hand in hand with local artisans, to create a positive social impact in Mexico.

The new series of light sculptures named Ambra combines volumes of ancient stones and aluminium. Centerpiece is the Mexican “Toba volcánica” stone that consists of minerals, glass and volcanic debris ejected one million years ago during severe eruptions. Fragments in the geometrical surfaces are testament to these explosions and movement.
The contrast between porous textures and smooth dark red underlines the studios contemporary approach on traditional materials and craft. The connecting components between the sculptural stone elements and the aluminium parts originate from an intensive research of linking unique handmade shapes with industrial parts.
