Description
The 01 | H65 stool draws its essence from the serene atmosphere of ancient Nordic gathering places, where simplicity dictated form and function. Carved from Baltic birch, it offers an honest and unpretentious presence, both grounded and light. Its pure lines, heirs to a timeless language, adapt naturally to everyday rituals, whether around a counter or a bar. Available in a variety of finishes, it becomes a discreet companion in our spaces, carrying within it the echo of a tradition revisited with precision.
Niels Stroyer Christophersen unveiled his first collection, The Permanent Collection, in October 2011 in Berlin, inaugurating a formal language imbued with timelessness, some of whose iconic pieces endure to this day. His approach, an organic and holistic approach, draws half of the creations from external collaborations, while the other half is crafted in-house, in order to preserve a deeply rooted aesthetic coherence. Through his works, he tirelessly defends essential values: simplicity, the nobility of natural materials, authentic craftsmanship, sustainability, and an aesthetic of enlightened sobriety, conveying meaning and emotion.

The new series of light sculptures named Ambra combines volumes of ancient stones and aluminium. Centerpiece is the Mexican “Toba volcánica” stone that consists of minerals, glass and volcanic debris ejected one million years ago during severe eruptions. Fragments in the geometrical surfaces are testament to these explosions and movement.

The contrast between porous textures and smooth dark red underlines the studios contemporary approach on traditional materials and craft. The connecting components between the sculptural stone elements and the aluminium parts originate from an intensive research of linking unique handmade shapes with industrial parts.
